Choose from the rural landscape of the Great British countryside or the Dordogne region of South Western France with its endless sunflower fields.

People often struggle with the idea of a healthy balance, and usually resort to extremes in pursuit of their goals. For example, overconsuming calories and then suddenly following a strict detox diet or signing up for a marathon with little or no experience.

These approaches are short lived and tend to result in significant rebound, injury, poor health and a negative mindset.

Tranquillité yoga and health retreats, hosted by Joe and maria, promote gradual, sensible life changes that fit in with your individual circumstances.

When you think long term, it takes the pressure off and allows you to focus on a few issues at a time. This helps to remove feelings of guilt and faily when things don’t go according to your plan and keeps you focussed and moving forward.

Who are we

MARIA

Maria was introduced to Yoga in 1996, whilst living in Florida, and her journey has continued with various teachers across the UK and Australia.

After sampling numerous forms of yoga, Maria found herself drawn to the creativity and dynamic movement of Vinyasa Flow and found herself feeling inspired to teach others.

Upon completing her Vinyasa Flow Teacher Training in 2011, Maria has now introduced this form of yoga to Manchester and Cheshire. During this time, she has also continued her studies with Yoga, anatomy and holistic therapies, deepening her knowledge and enabling herself to offer a more personalised approach to students. One that supports the integration of mind, body and spirit.

Maria’s style of teaching is dynamic, creative and fun. In one of her sessions you are encouraged to work to your potential to incorporate breathing and relaxation techniques that help you focus the mind and connect with your body. Thus, creating inner harmony and peace which results in a greater sense of wellbeing.

Who are we?

JOE

After spending 13 years as a police officer, Joe decided to follow his passion of health, nutrition and exercise. He is now a qualified personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach with a Level 1 certification in sports and exercise nutrition.

Joe is specifically interested in nutrition, leading him to study numerous academic texts by research doctors, scientists and professionals. During his studies Joe has focussed on wading through all conflicting theories and opinions to develop a sensible and balanced view on how to lead a healthy life.

Joe’s passion is in cooking, as many of our Tranquillité retreat guests will notice. Over the years, he has developed his style to make healthy eating as tasty as possible. He believes all the food we consume should be the best we can source and afford.
